I am afraid for this week!

I joined Weight Watchers 2 weeks ago and it has gome fabuously.  I have dropped 7.6 pounds in two weeks.  I have tried the WW plan before and always felt cranky, deprived and just blah about it.  I am trying to understand why it is working this time when it hasn’t in the past.

Here’s what I think is a major factor:  I think that I managed, by sheer dumb luck, to start at just the right time in my hormonal cycle.  I was very positive when I started.  Yesterday, I started with the PMS, cranky for no reason, I gotta have chocolate, I don’t care if I skip my workout attitude.  I have been on a roll, and I managed not to sabatoge myself yesterday, but I am looking for advice for how to get through this.

Do any of you have any brilliant ideas for how to stave off the chocolate/salt/comfort food cravings besides “Suck it up and fight it?”  I can probably suck it up, but I’ll be terrible to live with for a few days!  My poor family!

Well I find that WW has a bunch of good desserts for pretty low points. Try a few of those for your chocolate cravings. There are also some 100 calorie candy bars available at my walmart and those are usually 2-3 points and good for a fix if you need it.

As for salt, if you’re a chip eater they have some pretty good 100 calorie doritos, cheatos, sun chips for 2-3 points a bag. The comfort food is harder but just try and maintain a very strict portion control policy if you have to eat something not good and try and stay totally away from fast food.

Give yourself a ultimatum like you can’t have dessert unless you go to the gym for 30 minutes or something…

That is my best advice. Hang in there because I know how hard the munchies get around this TOM…Keep it up and you’ll be fine!
